Dear Mr. Jackson,

I am writing in response to Mega Corp.’s advertised administrative assistant position in your corporate main office. I am skilled at the performance of clerical and administrative duties and have a highly professional appearance and approach. In addition to my high school diploma, I completed a vocational program to obtain a certificate as an administrative assistant.

I have experience creating and maintaining filing systems, scheduling appointments and events, maintaining the electronic calendar, taking notes and dictation and drafting grammatically sound memos and letters. I work well with other office staff. I have good knowledge of all office equipment, including copiers, scanners, facsimiles, PBX systems, multi-line phones and printers.

I take careful inventory of office supplies and make certain they are ordered when needed to avoid running out. I work to identify vendors with the best prices and unpack orders as they arrive to put the materials away. I schedule and attend office meetings where I take minutes.
